A: A MatchKey is a sophisticated digital representation of your likes and dislikes across media groups. It’s the handy way to store your tastes in one place, so you can share them with the sites you visit to instantly connect with exactly the stuff you love.

A: A MatchKey can hold all your tastes together from all the sites you go to in the MatchKey Partner Network. That way, no matter where you are, you’ll get better recommendations because you tell each site you visit your individual likes and dislikes everywhere. That means no more rating the same item and favoriting the same thing at every site you go to just to get the same results.

A: You'll be asked for your ZIP code, your year of birth, and your gender. We need this info so we can create a basic MatchKey for you, and start you on your way to discovering cool and interesting media. (Please try to resist the temptation of fibbing about your age; it'll throw off the goodness of your MatchKey.) This is the only information about you that goes into the MatchKey, besides your tastes in movies, music and more. To create your MatchKey, click right here.

A: You can use your MatchKey anywhere in the growing MatchKey Partner Network.

A: The only reason matchmine asks for your email address is so we can remind you what your username and password are, in case you forget. We don't use it for anything else. Honest. You have the option of not giving us your email address. But we won't be able to help you out if you forget how to sign in to MatchKey.com. You can also provide your email address separately if you’d like to get MatchKey news. No matter how you provide your email address to us, it is never stored with your MatchKey or shared.

A: We take your privacy seriously. The MatchKey was built to know a lot about what you like, but nothing at all about who you are. It only holds your likes and dislikes in movies, music and more, but contains no personally identifiable information of any kind. Need to know more? Check out our Privacy Policy.

A. Yes. It’s easy to transfer your MatchKey from your computer to matchkey.com. Make sure Gatekeeper is running, then simply click here. You'll be prompted to convert your existing MatchKey to save it online.

A: Yes. Sign in and go to the Explore tab of matchkey.com. You'll see the spiky ball and you’ll see a list view with details for each attribute within each media type.

A: Simple. Use it. The more you use your MatchKey, the better it gets at giving you stuff you’ll love. That's because as you use it at the sites you visit, it learns about your likes and dislikes. And, like a friend who knows you well, it's able to make better recommendations.
